Doing More with Less?

Keep your team focused & together despite lower headcount and reduced productivity.

3 things you can focus on today:

  • Consistent communication: utilize all channels frequently & regularly. Weekly & daily meetings and/or updates should land reliably – same days, same times. Use 1:1’s to assess changing needs and access to resources. Do you know exactly what issues your team is facing?

  • Clarity: are you being crystal clear about individual & team expectations and priorities? Work-streams are rapidly changing. In addition to being clear about goals, you also need to over-communicate these goals. Make sure you’re meeting folks where they are – if some people respond better via Slack, be there to follow up on your all-hands or org-wide memo.

  • Set an example: are you sending emails at all hours and logging off late-night? Being confined to your home that is both living- and work-space is a recipe for burnout. Show your team that there’s time to unplug and encourage them to do so by doing it yourself.
