Embracing Different Opinions & Disagreement

$5,000.00

In these ever-divisive times, disagreeing with someone on a sensitive subject can sometimes mean the end of a relationship. However, disagreement and tension can actually be a catalyst for personal growth and transformation. It is not only possible, but greatly important that we learn how to have compassion for those who think differently than us. Rooted in trauma-informed practices, participants will learn what it means to be in community, the inevitability of disagreements, emotional triggers and how the stress response impacts our cognitive functioning. The training will introduce Deep Listening principles, a framework for engaging in compassionate dialogue with someone who holds a different perspective, without compromising our own beliefs. Participants will then practice Deep Listening principles in a safe and guided environment.
